Fine art floral photography tips
You want awesome fine art florals that people will die for? I'll tell you how to get them. Use the light from a large window ( like in your living room). Make sure the light isn't pouring through directly. A shear curtain will difuse the light if needed. have a nice background ready. I prefer cloth, or posterboard if you want some bounce. Place the subject about 4 to 6 feet from the window, center. I usually place my floral(s) in a vase and set it on a stool. use a low aperature (f.22) and a longgggg exposure for correct balance. experiment with different backgrounds for each different floral type. The next step is to convert the product to black and white. I will explain that in my next blog. Have fun!!
here are a couple of my florals using this technique.

Can I shoot portraits outside in the middle of the day?
Sure you can!! Shoot beneath shade, under a tree, an overhang, or a parking ramp for excellent results.
